I have an old 10" JL Audio W3 (if I remember correctly) in a box installed by Car Toys in Texas.

Basically, upon pulling it out of my old car, I realized how damaged it was. I don't know much about subwoofers, but I was wondering what it's worth now that it's torn at the perimeter of the speaker (see images).

I know you can get speakers re-coned and what not and that the box has some value (very little as it was a cheap box) but the magnet must have some value, right?

Anyways, I was curious what some of you car audio experts thought of it's worth or if any of you had any insight as to how to get my bang for the buck on selling it (re-coning, selling as is, just selling the box, etc).

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can try. I doubt you get very much. The box may get you more than the woofer motor.

Thank for you the reply cubdenno. So you'd probably just recommend just selling it as is to someone then so they could take the box?

Would 25 dollars be a reasonable amount you think?

Thank you again!

yeah 25 bucks is a good place to start. I would remove the sub and list it. You may be surprised!! List it as what is currently is. JL W3 sub with rotten foam surround (dry rot). take an ohm readng on the voice coils with a DMM and offer it separate. Someone may see it as a viable fix it project or see the motor as usable for a woofer rebuild. Set the price at 25 bucks or best offer. again, it may surprise you on what you get.

Good luck!

Thank you again for your help! I found out upon taking it out that it's actually a 10w6v1 so maybe it'll go faster. I appreciate your advice!
