Okay, let me begin by saying I have a Rockford Fosgate P1000-1bd amp. I'm looking at getting the Alpine type X 12 inch. Just one. Don't think there's any need for two and I would need another amp. My question is, are these two components compatible as far as ohms? Also with the amp that I have would I be supplying enough power to the sub? Thanks for any helpful input before I drop a lot of $$

Need a it more information.

Make sure to find the lowest load the amp is designed to run. Ie: one ohm or two ohms.

Then to have access to that max power, you would then buy a dual voice coil sub.

For two ohms you want dual 4 ohm coils

For one ohm you want dual 2 ohm coils
