High pitched whine?

I had a local car audio shop do a few upgrades to the factory system (new amp, small sub, and an Audio Control LC8i to interface with the factory head unit/nav system) in my new car. I didn't notice anything on the way home, but ever since, after the car and audio system are on for roughly 8 minutes, a high pitched whine starts. It's constant - it doesn't get louder with acceleration or change when any electrical accessories are turned on or off. I have an appointment in a few days for them to look at it, but does anyone know why it's fine for 7-8 minutes, then it starts?

Is it *always* 7 or 8 minutes *every* time you start your car?

Could be a multitude of things, one of which being your radiator fan kicking on as your engine heats up.

Next time it happens, turn the car off after the noise has been happening for a little while. Then turn it back on right away. If its the fan, it should start up right away without waiting the customary 7 or 8 minutes.

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere, or a piece of faulty equipment. Does the noise come from every where?

The shop installed a ground loop isolator. So far, so good.

But to follow up, the noise wasn't every time I started it, but I'd estimate 2/3 of the time. I never timed it exactly, but was always after the 2nd or 3rd song, so I'd say 7-12 minutes, but never before. I never tried turning on the audio system for 10+ minutes without starting the car, so I can't answer that. Before or after the noise, I tried turning on and off every electrical device and could never force it happen or stop. It's been very hot the last 2 weeks (mid/upper 90's) so fans + A/C surely would have kicked in by then.
