Question on unit with Apple CarPlay

I was thinking about adding a 2 din unit to my 07 Jeep Wrangler. I like what Apple CarPlay has to offer, but not sure if it's a good situation for me. Obviously, the Jeep will be loud quite a bit, and although I usually don't answer the phone while driving it, there will be times I need to. And if I do, due to the noise, I answer it with the phone itself, not bluetooth. Based on what I've seen from CarPlay, the system will stop showing the phone when disconnected (which I do when answering it with the phone). That being said, I usually put it back on the charger mount I have right after, so I don't think it will be a big deal to miss it while on the phone. I would think the majority of my CarPlay use would be maps and music. Also, I would need the unit to have some sort of input for a backup camera. Based on these needs, does it seem like CarPlay would be good?

And if so, what is a better CarPlay unit right now? Seems like the Pioneer AVH-4201NEX is well liked, and it comes with a backup camera already, but I don't know if any other brands people might recommend. Cost is not a huge consideration, but I don't want to go crazy overboard since I don't drive the Jeep everyday. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
