anyone know of an outboard EQ processor that concentrates on bass frequencies only? kinda like the Velodyne SMS-1 for home theaters. there are lots of full-frequency EQ processors out there, but none have a lot of frequency bands 100Hz and below. i thought audiocontrol would have one, but all they have is the Epicenter which is a bass booster.
i am hoping for 3 bands of parametric EQs that can be set to any frequency between 20-100Hz.

Why not the SMS-1? Alternatives are the R-DES or the BFD but they require some additional mardware/software for setup.

If you don't mind spending some $$$, maybe the ppi(precision power) dcx-730 would work?.?.

My (older) Alpine deck came with 'Bass Engine Pro' so I can set my parametric EQ as low as 20hz. :D

My Dual 18" LLT subs 120dB down to 10hz

or you could use 3x Phoenix Gold Bass cubes.

you dont need no bass eq. Just a good crossover like audiocontrol or the one in your deck should be fine.

the bass eq is for taming peaks in the bass region, so the bass is tight and not boomy. crossovers will just transfer the frequencies below the crossover point to the subwoofer. EQs in decks do not usually go below 40-60Hz.
the Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY processors offers some pretty neat EQ features, plus a nifty interface thru a PDA! price is reasonable too, so i may consider this.
