Hello to all.
Some HD camcorders (like my Canon HF 100) records movie as *.mts and the other as *.m2ts files.
What is the difference between this two files?

They are the same. You can rename one to the other.
*.MTS conforms to the DOS 8.3 file name in those device which requires it.

Originally m2ts stood for "mpeg-2 transport stream" which supports mpeg-4 (AVC) streams. But those m2ts mpeg-2 transport streams are different from the mts/m2ts AVCHD container. When you are talking about AVCHD, there is no difference between the mts and m2ts files except other than the filename.

I guarantee the above information for 59 minutes. Then someone will probably figure out how to change it...
