I've constructed this 3D stereoscopic rig using two Sony HDR-SR-11 camcorders. The newer HDR-XR500 or similar would work as well. In 3D electronic or optical stabilization has to be turned off, because the differential changes between the two views provide the wrong cues and are just counter productive. This rig works very well, and is based on the Steadicam Merlin stabilizer. Some of you maybe interested, since the 3D stereoscopy is comming up big time early next year. Since I am not allowed to post a link, go on youtube and search ComPH8, to see a clip about the rig if you want to see it. The system is quite light and portable, and I am really enjoying it.
