It's a shame Panasonic killed off the Sanyo FH1 / HD2000 camcorders...
They replaced them with not quite as good models.

Is there any other smaller manufacturer doing camcorders...

No Olympus or Fuji...Fujifilm..

Why nothing in the same vane as the above referenced models.

Any suggestions anyone?

Josh - have you seen the new Panasonic HX-DC10? It may not have quite the zoom range or the slow-mo capabilities of the HD2000 -- but it has the pistol grip form-factor, costs a lot less and has a higher megapixel count.

No real replacement for the FH1, though. That was an awesome camera.

Cheers,

Bill
