Have you seen the GW77 videos posted in this thread? They are Vimeo videos.
I don't understand: "from the youtube vids, the RX100 does still seem to have the edge on videos."
That little promotional video hardly shows much.
Look at the GW77 videos posted in the thread, and ask how the Rx100 would have been better. You can download the originals.

Do they not look good? How?
Many of the shots could not have been taken by the RX100. If you are interested in video, the GW77 is clearly better. If you want a small camera that takes excellent stills (because you want to take a a lot of stills) and good video, the RX100 is a contender. But not as your video camera.
The RX100 videos are less sharp and have artifacts. The zoom has far less extension and is not nearly as controllable. It is unuseable for sports.
You don't have touch focus (very useful), you don't have an articulated lcd (very useful). The Rx100 is somewhat better in low light, but only at wide angle. The RX100 is very good overall, especially for a stills camera. The big sensor, which is great for stills, is not wholly advantageous for video.
