Hello All, I'm not sure how often this forum is reviewed, but I really have to fix the issue I'm having with my camera. I have the Sony HDR CX350 Handycam with a 32 gig internal hard drive. It's been a great camera and I have really enjoyed using it. I'm currently having an issue with it that I have not been able to find a resolution or work around for. I have footage stored on the internal hard drive that I need to move to my editing pc, but when I use one of many usb cords that I have to connect it to the pc and others that I have, it is not making a connection. On the camera LED it just stays on a screen that says "Preparing Connection". I have tried different usb cables and different computers that I own, the issue appears to be with the camera. Has anyone experienced this issue or have a resolution so that I can move my footage from the camera to my pc?

Thanks in advance

It sounds like the USB connector on the camcorder is potentially bad.

There is a simple work-around. The CX350 has 32 GB of internal memory, but you can also add your own SD memory card to it. Your camcorder has a dub function - see page 43 at this link:

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/HDRCX300_handbook.pdf

that allows you to dub from the internal memory to your own SD memory card, then you can take out the SD memory card and use an SD card reader on your computer to read it.
