Has anyone else had issues with video having loud ambient noise? I used a Vixia HF R11 not long ago and noticed clicking noises on it, but I had already ordered this camera. Unfortunately I ended up leaving town for more than a week so my 30-day window for returns is on me, so I need to decide quickly to keep or return.

Does anyone know of a fix?

I am uploading a sample video to YouTube and it's telling me: The video you uploaded may have audio/video sync issues.

I transferred and opened the video using Windows Explorer straight from the camera. Could this be the cause of my troubles?

All video cameras have a default "AGC" or Automatic Gain Control. The idea is that any sound present will be adjusted to a "medium" audible setting. Loud things are damped and weak sounds are amplified.

Try sitting somewhere where there is a normal amount of noise. At least count with a normal voice level.

Or, find a way to turn it off and use manual loudness controls.

Thanks. Any hints on what manual settings work best for talking head interviews?
