Hi, just bought this camera for a local charity and hoping to recorrd some interviews. Can anyone tell me the best settings for the mic? 2 channel or 5.1? thanks

Two channels for sure, assuming the interviewer and interviewee are in front of the camera.

You should use manual audio, and set the levels so that the average sound is around -12 on the meter and never goes above -3, with the latter being the most important. If this is run and gun stuff - you move around interviewing people - and cannot know sound levels in advance, then maybe leave the audio on auto (agc).

I've had good results leaving the camera on automatic if the room is quiet and the subject is close. If there is much background noise the AGC will fight to capture all of it.

Audio often is the hardest part of video.
