Hello...I am pretty new to videography and I am looking for some help in determining a good camera to purchase.
I will be recording moderate action on a boat in the ocean, so image stabilization is going to be important. Can anyone tell me the advantages of a camera such as the Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM as opposed to a Canon VIXIA HF G30 for half the price?
Thanks for any info that can be provided.
There is quite a size difference in those two cameras, If you are looking at the Canon, why not look at the Sony HDR-CX900 or the HXR-NX30. The NX30 has XLR inputs and is similar to the consumer PJ780/790. The Sony cx900 and the canon have lots of manual controls etc.. You could also take a look at the 4K Sony camcorder which is the FDR-ax100. Any of these should serve you well.
