Most of the main maufactuars cams IE Pana 700 to 950 & 750 plus Canons HFG30 have zooms 12 to 20x where as their smaller chip cams go to 50 plus x,20x is fine for most situations except the type of filming i do most, wildlife.
Content is most important for me and maybe i have been missing out not useing my HF-G30s extended 2x zoom even on top of the screw in extender as well.
This was with the cam lens and screw in 1.5x extender.
With this the in cam 2x digital extender was also used, for me the slight degradation is worth it,playing the film file on HD tv it was better than i expected.
With the in cam extender and 1.5x screw in extender the 35mm equivalent is 1728mm with the 1.5x srew in alone 864mm.
Anyway i guess filming flowers or the cat and arguing which looks best is is the current theme.
