Most of the main maufactuars cams IE Pana 700 to 950 & 750 plus Canons HFG30 have zooms 12 to 20x where as their smaller chip cams go to 50 plus x,20x is fine for most situations except the type of filming i do most, wildlife.
Content is most important for me and maybe i have been missing out not useing my HF-G30s extended 2x zoom even on top of the screw in extender as well.
This https://vimeo.com/92926945 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RPtIgK2Bog was with the cam lens and screw in 1.5x extender.
With this https://vimeo.com/93843904 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEWcaHbi0b8 the in cam 2x digital extender was also used, for me the slight degradation is worth it,playing the film file on HD tv it was better than i expected.
With the in cam extender and 1.5x screw in extender the 35mm equivalent is 1728mm with the 1.5x srew in alone 864mm.
Anyway i guess filming flowers or the cat and arguing which looks best is is the current theme.
