Sena Action Cam

I came across this earlier this morning. It seams like many companies are jumping on the action cam market. I've never heard of this one. I wonder how it compares with Sony? I use Sony as the bench mark, as I feel they have the best stabilization technology going, and I feel that is one of the most important features of any action cam, or any camcorder for that matter.

There are many cheap, inferior "Action cams" out there. If anyone finds one that actually has any features superior to the Sony or GoPro offerings in features or video quality, that would be news.

The web sites have specs, so it really does not take much to see that this product as a video camera is inferior in every dimension:

1. The max resolution/frame rate is 108030p (no bitrate given).

2. No stabilization.

3. No stereo mic.

4. No GPS.

5. No WiFi remote view or control.

6. No external mic input.

7. No control over WB or exposure.

Its unique feature is Bluetooth audio and control.

I'm not trying to be critical by any means here. Gopro has been around for quite sometime, and I have to admit they produce a great product, but when it comes to image stabilization, I feel that Sony's action cam is superior, and when you use a cam primarily for action, then IS is a most important feature. My observation then is that Gopro should spent a bit more time in developing a better stabilization system that can at least compete with Sony. After all, they have a larger line of accessories which makes their product attractive to the consumer. But if they want to totally control the market, and after all, is that not what manufacturers want to do, then they need to improve on that one feature. JMHO

Cheers

I have one gopro hero 2 and two gopro hero4. hero2 I no longer use. as for hero4 I hook it with external battery, sit the hero4 in a tripod, put in 128gb sdxc card set to record 1080p super wide and record 3 to 4 hours non-stop video. I also bought a handheld stabilizer for hero4 mark mentioned in different post. but I use my ax33 for walking video cause I find people staring at the handheld stabilizer when I am using it.
