Panasonic or Sony Camcorder for Promo

Hey Everyone

I am looking at purchasing a new camcorder now I have a choice between a new Panasonic AG-AC8 with spare batteries, bag, light for £860 or a used Sony PMW-100 for £1000 would like your thoughts or if there is another camcorder for around £1000 that you think would be good for promo work please let me know. Look forward to hearing your opinions.

The Sony has a larger sensor ( 5.4-54mm lens = 40-400mm FF eqiv) vs the Panasonic AG-AC8PJ ( 2.82-59.2mm lens = 28-729.6 mm FF eqiv).

BTW the largest sensor camcorder is the full frame Sony VG900 were a 28-135mm power zoom lens on it = 28-135mm FF eqiv.
