Man this thing looks awesome. I don't know how long people have been waiting for an affordable camera that does 24p.

I'm somewhat concerned whether this camera is really full HD. The image sensors are only 1 megapixel and produce 1.2 mp images. HD is approx 2.2 mp. I've been looking at the CineAlta line and they DO produce the full 2.2mp image. So I'm not yet convinced that the Sony HVR-V1U is the camera to get for ultimate production quality.
The fact that the Sony HVR-V1U produces 1.2mp stills hints that this is the maximum video resolution too.
