I am looking to purchase a Camcorder in the very near future and I really do not want to ask anyone at my job (Best Buy) because they are idiots. Basically if I was to use it to shoot footage such as: interviews, DVD's (possibly), stuff for my sites future online mini show. Then when I am done with whatever I shoot edit it myself with my editing programs.

I see this one and I think that it is pretty good. Canon - High-Definition MiniDV Camcorder HV20

Any help is really appreciated.

The Canon HV10 (which the HV20 is based on) is generally considered to be the best HD consumer camcorder on the market. The HV20 will improve upon it with additional features and improved low-light. Go for the HV20 which should be out by April.

that is some brutal honesty there .
I think HV20 is so far an unbeatable deal, especially with your employee discount.

I went to my local best buy to enquire about HDV camcorders. The camcorder salesperson had no clue what I was talking about. Kept trying to sell me a HDD camcorder.

I have pre-ordered the Canon HV20 (but not from Best Buy).

I picked up a Panasonic HDC-SD1 (after looking long and hard at the HV10 and the Sony SR1). I love it so far...fantastic. Only disadvantage that I know of so far is there is almost no editing software out for it for another few weeks.
