I admit, I haven't used the camera too much since Xmas, mostly just holding it (not using tripod) taking shots of the kids rolling around. I've only viewed the output on my 1080p display which exhibits some softness when scaling the 1440x1080i to 1080p.

Reason I ask is because when connected to FireWire, I can't get the PC to see the photos on the memory stick. In order to do that I have to plug in the USB connector and change the camera to "memory stick" mode via the tiny dial near the zoom lever, then the PC sees it as a Canon HV10 camera.

Problem is the images at 1080p aren't that huge, but they take forever to transfer off the unit.....USB 1.0?

Just curious!
