Found a low light sample of the HC7 over on DVINFO.COM... doesn't look too bad. A little grainy as to be expected but overall color depth is maintained. The HC3 tends to soften a little in similar lighting. Not overly happy with the speed of auto focus but I think the cam operator was jerking the cam around too fast for the lighting conditions (gotta slow it down a little in low lights). Also a close up turtle sample under somewhat better light, which looks quite spectacular

Download the clip and change the extension to M2T. You can play with Nero showtime but it does a really butch job (jagged line break up syndrome) If you can... render it over to mpeg2 @25000 and play with power dvd, or play it off a vegas or liquid timeline... plays much better that way.

There also seems to be a question as to whether the HV20 is as sharp as the HV10.... surprises me a little... they both have the same cmos.

At the end of the day though, bare in mind that these are all just samples and it's a little hard to tell.... too many variables involved.
