Hi -
I'm looking for recommendations on a cheap camcorder.
Between $300-$500, preferrably closer to $300.
Certain features are actually more important than picture quality.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Optical Image Stabilizer
Manual Focus ring
Manual Iris/Aperture
the longer the zoom (optical), the better

Does such a thing even exist? I haven't been able to find it.

I'm basically looking for as much of the control of a prosumer cam as I can get, with none of the cost.
And again, I'm really not concerned with image quality.

I'll skip the "why?" for brevity, but if you ask I'll tell you.

None that I know of. Full manual control is a feature that manufacturers reserve for their Prosumer and Professional models. Long optical zoom is a feature that professionals don't care about so you should be able to find it in a cheap consumer camcorder.
