Building a new house for a client and after showing him my HAI system with lutron homeworks, he wants iPad control for his home. Problem is that he wants to keep budget around $20k. This is for 30 light loads, keypads, hvac, security, distributed audio and ip cameras. I'm thinking crestron for the whole job but not sure if it can be done for that price. I like HAI but I programmed and installed everything myself and have no time to do the same for him. I would like to hire a CI to do everything so they can take care of service calls. Other options would be homeworks QS of RA2 but I much prefer hardwired. Crestron wireless system maybe for control with lutron lighting? Help needed, overly confused right now.

Thanks for the help.

For that price range you need to go with Control4...

Partner up with a CI. Without more specifics, it's hard to say what a real budget would be for all you want. 4 zones of basic audio and the other stuff he wants is doable with Crestron. 18 zones, notsomuch.
The other thing is once he knows what something will cost, he may adapt and prewire for the dream, but start out small.

First step is finding the right integrator/CI. Then, decide on the system.

Any experienced HAI dealers in the area, that could duplicate your setup?

Talked to my CI, and we came up with a setup that will work for 20k budget. Speakers, multizone controller, etc. will be extra but I'll be signing the deal this week. Thanks all for the help.

Anyone else wondering what they came up with?
