I am building (piece by piece) an Elan g! system for my new house.  Does anyone know if you can link an M86A and an S86P together for music distribution?  I picked up a cheap S86P and was hoping I could use it instead of a second M86A (which I already have).  The S86P doesn't have a direct connection for speakers so I'm assuming I'd have to add an amplifier.  Not really sure how you'd use the S86P....

I don't see anything in the documents on how to connect the two - stick with the second M86A - you know that will work.

Yes you can link  Elan M86 and s86. by doing this you will Increase the Number of Zones but for the S86P Zones you have to use a AMP also.

S86P is controlled through Rs232 and the M86A is Controlled by VIANET port of HC Controller.
