Question Help new user with Nest Thermostat Plaese

I haven't done much of anything with the Nest Thermostat since installation and just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of it. However, this morning before work I did try to set the "schedule" starting at 4pm (before arriving home from work) to our desired temp of 74 degrees... but noticed the Thermostat counting down as I was walking about and about to kick on again even though it wasn't schedule until 4pm... so I may have messed everything up.

I also have no idea what to set, or if I should even use "Eco" mode.

Can someone give me a simple breakdown of what I should set the settings to/schedule etc in order to obviously save energy/money?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k
GPU: EVGA 1080 FTW
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1 Gaming 7
Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H115i
Case: NZXT H440 Red/Black
Monitor: LG 34" UC88-B

Yes, there are separate thermostat and fan schedules. You can program the fan to run for a certain period every hour. I have an old 2 and a half storey house, I find it helpful to equalize the temp. I suggest poking around the app.

I see dead pixels.......

Yeah maybe I should download the app. Maybe you can guide me for now...?

Lets say I'm away from home from 5a - 5p and want the house at 74 degrees until about midnight, any suggested settings? I'm lost with the "eco" mode.

Yes use the app on your phone then set up your home/away assist, then your nest thermostat will know when you are not home and switch it to eco, you set what temp you want the house to be whenever you are away
