and I am planning on a home automation system to include:

Lighting control
Distributed sound
Security system
Media room
etc....etc.

Looking for a solid, quality install company (preferrably local) with high end experience to take on my project. I am located in Southern California (Long Beach).

Thanks in advance for any referrals. PM if you would like.

Do you have a budget? How large is the house?

The budget will be predicated on what and how much I eventually decide to do based on discussions with a provider. I am looking for a relatively high end solution. The house will be 4,000 sq ft.

I'm located in Santa Barbara and do work as far south as Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Valencia, Malibu, etc. but tend not to get into or beyond LA.

I've had some involvement with a couple shops in your area, but would not recommend either one.

There are tons of custom installers near you, so should be easy to get an initial meeting with several to see if you find one that seems to be a good match to work with. If you already have a specific system(s) in mind (Crestron, AMX, Lutron, Niles, etc.) try giving the manufacturer a call and asking for a referral. They tend to know the dealers/installers that they have good relationships with.

I'll also email someone I know that may have a lead for you... if it pans out, I'll PM you with info.

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for the referrals so far. I will check into them

The Crestron Western office in Cypress/Los Alamitos CA is just blocks away from our office. I have spoke to them and did receive some referrals. I also looked on the Cedia site and have been in contact with a few. So far nothing has felt just right.

I thought I would post on this site based on its reputation, and, I have been a lurker on this site for quite some time. I am looking for a warm referral, someone who has actually used an installer in the So Cal area with great satisfaction or has first hand knowledge of a good one. Referrals are relatively easy to come by, goods ones maybe not so easy.

Thanks

It would probably help to put the location in your title. Also, try posting at remotecentral.com in the Custom Installer's Forum.
