I'm lookiing into adding automated lighting, probably insteon, and I was wondering if I have a 3way light circuit I want automated, do I need to replace both switches or just one?
I would assume just one but I'd rather get a definite answer.
Another thing, does anyone know when the version 3 insteon stuff will be out?
I just know once I buy the version 2, the 3 will be out the next day. I like the idea of an ethernet based control as in the version 3.

With Insteon, you replace each both switches and link them to each other. One switch will control the Load and the other is not wired to the load. There is a diagram of this on SH website. just go to the Switchlinc and look for the manual.

Other technologies have "companion" switches which are cheaper versions and do nothing but control the load switch.

Please do not send me PM's asking for software! You will not get it.
