The remotes back-light functionality sounds neat but it kinda looks like one of my kids toys with all the different colors.

I've been waiting to see if Samsung was going to solve the issues of the 71F sets and I've been lurking on AVS for some time... This new model may just be what I've been waiting for; a set that addresses the 71F's issues but maintains or improves the qualities.

I will be interested to find out more about the LN46A650 and hope the reviews match the first impressions of buyers.

Thanks for all of the pics and observations...

Fort TBE test, I tried AMP on all settings... it leaves a slight trail of the cross hairs when I zip left to right or spin up in a circle... when AMP is off, of course it does none whatsoever.

Varmintcong, I know what you mean, that's why I'm not showing much content, more so the features, the cabinet, etc... I need some decent calibration settings for sure.

Looks like some calibration is in order as I'm seeing Red Push in those Pic's as they've been used as reference comparisons in the past (Casino Royale) and no hint of Red - should be easy to tweak out. Good Luck and Enjoy!

So it sounds like when AMP is off, it's REALLY off.....no more having to go to game mode.

When I ordered mine from BB they tried to get me to pay 200 bucks for a guy to come out and hook up some sort of calibration system to the tv. I decided not to in order to save some money. So I hope someone posts some calibration settings too. I will be getting mine on tuesday.

Why did you have to go to game mode? On my 71 when i turn AMP off i get no TBE on video games or anything whatsoever.

I heard the same thing, so when i brought home my 71, the BB guys brought it out and I was trying to tie it so it would stand vertically and HE said :
"No you dont need to transport LCD's vertically, its only for plasmas but most people think it still applies to LCD's. If it will make you feel better we can put it vertical but they come stacked on the truck on there sides."

So apparently when they take them off the truck they are stacked on the sides..

Thanks, that is totally what I was thinking, plus it just seems to make sense to transport like that...obviously the need to make sure they are not stepped on is key

Mega,

I know you are hesitant to post pics until calibrated...but what is your overall impression of both HD and SD picture? Are you loving the set or a bit disappointed?

I'm not dispappointed by the picture quality at all! The screen is VERY uniform and the black levels are much improved from the LNT4661F I just replaced... my girlfriend adopted my old set... good for her!

Tool, how did you get such a low price with just 10% off at BB? Did you get the 46in or the 42? According to my math the price shouldn't be so low... Share with us please.

Edit: Ha! You answered before I could ask. Excellent!
