These are the values I use.

Backlight = 3

Black Adjust = Off

Dynamic Contrast = Off

This setting provides the perfect screen for both games and movies with the room lights either on or off.

Black Adjust = Off★ (You choices)

Everything else I can do on my own.

Personally I have both Black Adjust and Dynamic Contrast set to "Low" (with Backlight at 3). Kaki says this is ok, and it really takes care of some small flashlighting I have in the upper corners. But I've always wondered how much my picture is being distorted. What do you folks think?

After using the settings you suggested ahbib I noticed it was a little dark at first for me but after getting used to it, I think this calibration is pretty sweet.

One more thing if one is to follow specific settings in trying to calibrate and get the best out of there sets, in which order do we start adusting the settings.

For instance using Kakis Ps3 settings - he suggest certain things to be calibrated at 0 and while in Movie mode/Warm 1. Please correct me if I'm wrong this is how im reading it:

1. So for one I would first go to Movie mode and reset, and then set everything he suggests to Calibrate at zero to 0

2. I would then select Warm 1

3. Now what settings and which chronological order should I then follow?

Question about the picture modes: Can Movie and Standard be calibrated to look completely identical? Or is there something inherently different about the modes themselves that makes it impossible for them to ever look the same?

1) he doesnt do calibrations for this tv anymore, so just grab one of the last ones that he did and call it a day

2) what does pure LCD mean? isnt the B650 basically the same tv?

I have been using this for a long time and just love it and don't bother anymore changing settings I have stayed with this one and its awesome with the PS3. If wanting better input lag then transfer over these settings in the special PC mode and adjust to your liking and boom great input lag picture quality look good for PC mode and then back to normal for movies. Make sure to set it YCbCr mode and either for RGB mode limited for low or full for normal on the TV.

There is no "calibration channel" on regular TV! There needs to be a source of calibration images to do a calibration.

Plus cable TV is poor quality anyway, so who cares?

If you want the best you can get, get the hardware/software for less than $150 and learn to do it yourself. Copying others settings is useless...no point because every set is different. Getting close is a complete failure. Spend a little time and learn how to do it yourself and then get it right! It does not need to be to the level of a pro cal. but copying others settings is a waste of time and you will see that if you write down the numbers before and after you learn the basics of calibrating your own set. I did-it is not that difficult and only takes a little time. I used the online "Greyscale for Dummies" as a guide and I did it and I know nothing about electronics that some of these guys are doing! It's up to you-you will be glad you learned how to perform the basics because it can take you a long ways to getting your TV calibrated at a fraction of the cost normally-and it is repeatable as you change TV's and equipment!

Hey all, new to the site here just picked up a 52" A650.

I'm going to be playing media from my computer via HDMI. I'm sure theres some calibration settings somewhere in this massive thread for PC/HDMI playback. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've also noticed using 120hz I get random jitters or skips, anyway to lessen this? I'm using the CCCP codec pack with Windows Media Classic Home Cinema. My machine is fairly capable so I don't think hardware is an issue. Most of the media is comprised of high quality .mkv files

Thanks...
