Yip. No water or any liquid and I usually go vertically, up and down, when I clean the screen.

Great news,

Samsung is gonna exchange my ln52a650 because of the purple tint crap.

Does this TV have the same problem.

They actually are exchanging my LN52a650 for the LN52A750 and not charging me a dime. I offered to pay a difference but they said for all my troubles, they will exchange up to the 7 series!

So any purple tint problems with this TV?

Finally got a good TV, my 9th TV. LN52A650 was exchanged by Samsung for free for a LN52A750! No problems as of now.

I haven't heard anyone else with this issue, but it sounds like a sync problem with your TV and receiver. If you have the option, you'll need to set some delays in your receiver.

What is the connection? Are you connecting video directly to the TV and audio out to the receiver? You can likely also avoid the problem by connecting the video and sound to the same device. A good test would be to connect the audio and video directly to the TV and see if you still get the problem (then you know if the source device is the offending party).

yea, I was amazed, samsung is usually pretty anal, but this guy was pretty nice and helped me out alot.

I guess waiting for the tech to dick me over on 6 appointments and finally show up on the 7th time.

Guess this will make up for it.

So no purple haze for sure on this TV?

I know I cant be the only person on this forum to be using a audio system in conjunction with this TV. Can anyone else that is using a audio system for their audio please respond with whether or not they are having this same issue with lag? If you play the audio and video through the tv there is no lag and my assumption is because the set is syncing the audio with the video as it should the tv can delay the audio signal to match the delay of the video the tv is producing. I'm not going to keep this set if I have to listen to audio through the tv because in my opinion what is the point of having a 3000 dollar plus tv if you are going to listen to audio through the lamo speakers on the set.

I went to 3 stores today. Looked at 3 750's and 4 650's. Not one had Purple Haze. I get the feeling that the purple haze sets were a bad run. Since both tv's have the same panel, and not all have the purple haze, I would assume it has something to do with settings in the SM. BTW, I did notice purple haze on a Westinghouse (real bad) and on a Sony 3000.

are u running hdmi from receiver to tv? i had to adjust hdmi audio delay setting on receiver down to 0ms to make the a/v sync properly. you should be able to make this adjustment in your receiver's menu.

Toshyrrific!

I'm running HDMI from the Tivo HD to the tv but I am using optical cable for audio from the Tivo HD to my Onkyo receiver because my receiver doesn't support HDMI in.

Stopped by the local CC to check out the 750. It was offered at $3499 with a great deal, 36 months at no interest, using a CC credit card.

I couldn't help but notice that the screens on the Sammy's were very bright, versus the Sammy or Pano plasma. By bright I mean searing eyeball bright. The colors were to die for though.

Anyone have any comments on the Sammy FPT-5884 58 plasma, versus teh LCD 750? Thanx!

Of course it did, because replacing the screen was not necessary. It is not a panel issue, but a "color" issue (possibly greyscale, since it happens with blacks). Since people are having a hard time dialing it out, I would assume that something needs to be done in the SM. Toshiba has/had a similar issue with Green Push. It could be lessened, but not completely dialed out.

Remember, they put the LCD's on "torch" mode in the stores, so they look very bright. You can dial it down to be just as dark as the Plasma, and still have the brighter options for day viewing if desired. Unlike a Plasma, which seem to have issues in day viewing (bright room vieiwing) due to low brightness/whites.

I looked at the 7 series the other day in the store, it looks really nice, I actually like the look of it better then the 6 series. The red didnt seem as noticeable as the 6 series, but I guess its hard to tell in a store. When the light would shine in on my 6 series it would look like cheap red plastic.

The 7 series just looks "classier" or something like that.

Cant wait, Samsung said my exchange unit should be here in 14-21 days. Hopefully it doesnt take that long.

Finally got a good TV, my 9th TV. LN52A650 was exchanged by Samsung for free for a LN52A750! No problems as of now.

However, if you'll be using a PC with it a lot, i would advise against the plasma because of potential burnin problems.

Thanks for the reply! I will not be using my new TV with a PC at all, but I will be gaming some. Around 2-4 hours at a time...2-3 times a week. With that amount of gaming, would I have to worry about burnin with a plasma??

Thanks again! I've really learned a lot reading everyone's posts!!

[quote=zerog6;13867348]I got my 71 replacement approved for a 750 a couple of days ago, after some back and forth about the 650 or 750 being the replacement of course, but they ended up giving me the 750. Can't wait to get it.

sorry, what do you mean by getting your "71 replacement approved"?

Hey guys! I recently returned my 71F to a local store because I found out theres way competitve pricing online. I loved the 71F most especially the LED and the white light touch panel on the right. Now, I am trying to decide if the 7 series is really worth the $500 extra. I know the 7's ability to play video off the Infolink is a HUGE plus to me 'cos im a music video collector and this feature would be awsome to have.

I'd appreciate it if any one can give me any sort of feedback.

I'm going to pull the trigger on the LN52A750 tomorrow (Big River). I'm hoping that since the tv will be coming from the DC an hour away from my house I will be able to get it delivered relatively fast.

Yesterday I picked up the Loop 64" Media Console from Crate and Barrel as my TV stand.

Are you sure amazon will ship it out from DC? Why not just order it today and if it is near where you live, you could even get it on Saturday!

p.s. Nice tv stand.

Well the tech made 7 appointments to come to my house.

Out of 7, he showed up twice, one time to look at the tv for 20 minutes, and another to replace the panel.

I did have to jump through hoops kind of but since the tech dicked me about 6 times and didnt even call to let me know he wouldnt be there.

Finally got a good TV, my 9th TV. LN52A650 was exchanged by Samsung for free for a LN52A750! No problems as of now.

I went through a very similar experience last night at CC. The store gave me the 52A750 for the web price. There was a 50 something" Pano plasma that did make me stop and think.

I only have a couple hours in front of the screen but so far it is very impressive, watched Sunshine on blueray. No issues to mention and the sound sync is fine. If after awhile I have a issue I will report back.

Note that when you first turn on the TV at home it asks you if you are "at home" or "in the store". So I imagine the store setting has everything cranked up on it.

The store setting(shop mode) is the same as the home setting only is resets after 50 minutes, so if people mess with the settings it reverts back to cranked up everything lol

Do any of you owners have kids or dogs and are worried about them putting their hands/noses on the screen? i want to buy this but my current tv has kid prints on it and our dogs have a bad habit of running at the tv and barking (don't seem to touch it though) when any kind of animal comes on.

I've been trying to decide between this tv and the Panny 800u plasma..and thought I made up my mind with this LCD. But, I went to BB yesterday and noticed when you barely touch the screen you get a brief LCD blue-ish color in about a 2-3 inch circumference of where you touch. Now I'm not so sure. Anyone worried about this?

this is normal- its the liquid crystal moving around I believe. BTW- would you please post a vid of your dogs barking at the screen? I would find it so funny to watch. LOL. Better be careful with these HD tv's= your dogs might attack the tv one day. LOL

My cat likes to watch TV, especially the Simpsons. I'm interested to see if my 750 arriving tommorrow blows his mind as much as I expect it will mine (Is that odd?)...

By the way, all LCDs do that when you touch them. That's why you're not supposed to touch them. I wouldn't worry about it unless not being able to touch your TV during viewing would really screw up your routine....

The dogs are funny to watch. They will run and bark at the screen with any animal (not just other dogs) and the tv can be on mute. Our lab actually watches for animals on tv...and she taught our new bernese mountain dog how to do it..which he does, but i think he doesn't know why he is running at the screen like an idiot...he just follows her lead.

I realize it's the liquid crystal moving, but this tv is MUCH more sensitive then when i touch my computer monitor..and that worries the wife and me.
