Aesthetically speaking, the 750 series is in a league of it's own. My only gripe would be the non-swiveling stand. The 750, i would consider, is the true replacement of the 71f. Even the TOC is implemented well on the 750.

Definitely, the 750 bezel looks great. I love its square shape. If it just had the swivel stand. I wonder if one can buy it as a separate piece.
My wife likes its shape, but when she realiced that it doesn't swivel, then she thinks we should get the LN52A650.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
The panel is 10bit and the response time is 6ms for this unit the LN52A750R1F.
If you have any questions please feel free to call 1-800-SAMSUNG for further assistance.

Hope that helps.

I always thought that the LN52A650 was 4ms and the LN52A750 6ms. Who's right? Who knows?

We need a calibration thread!

Also might have found a slight problem. When booting up say a game sometimes its a black as day on a dark screen, turn the tv off boot the same game up and its got a pillar like affect. Turn it off then its random if it light's up black or not. Had the ferrite core hdmi cable switched to a non ferrite and ill see if that helps. Might have found the bug sorry! Also when going at a 45 degree angle it gets a lot lighter the more you move to the right. But im sure thats common.

LOL also have tons of vapor and studder on resistance, AMP is on Medium!

I wouldn't read too much into that stutter statement unless it's confirmed by multiple users. He might have a defective set. Nearly everyone in the 650 thread and everyone except him in this thread have reported no stutter at all. This includes 71/69 owners who have lots of experience with the issue.

Went to CC to see if I could see the Halo. I did, but it took a bit to see it and it didn't seem like it was that big of a deal. Maybe it will get worse when at home, with in him lighting (darkening), not sure. But it was relatively dark at CC.

Sort of saw a purple haze on one of the 650's they had at CC and not the other one. I would rather have the halo then the purple haze, if it was a choice.

The 750 did look a little better then the 650 at CC, but I attribute that to the source difference between the two.

Anyway, will probably order the 750 in the next few days unless I hear about other issues besides the halo.

I have a 71 also so I know a little bout the studder.

Also did some more test and the studder is very bad so is the vapors even on low, hopefully I just have a defect, it will be going back tomorrow. Ive gone through 3 650 and now 1 750, will the madness ever stop!

To me at least it makes no sense to drop $3K on a TV and not have it hooked up to a kick ass sound system. No sense whatsoever. If I could not for whatever reason hook this up to a sound system, I would have purchased a much less expensive TV. That's just me!

That makes no sense. Just because someone may not have a great sound system, doesnt mean shouldnt enjoy great "picture quality". Audio goes to the ears, Video goes to the eyes. Having one of the two is better than none.

I've read this thread, and am still slightly baffled... Can someone clearly, and explicitly define what the halo effect is? I'm considering a purchase. Thanks.

Post 169 I think.

You see the 'light' that comes out near the top and bottom? That is what the 'halo' is. A little light that seeps through the edge of the bezel.

I believe it is the light from the tv reflecting off the clear plastic trim on the bezel.

I still think for a tv that has a sub the sound should be better than it is. I want a surround system but it's not something in my future as I can't crank it up anyway because my child would hear it through the walls

FYI, nino, the TV does not have a subwoofer. It has a woofer. Most speakers in general have a tweeter (high range) and a woofer (midrange). A subwoofer is the big black box that sits on the floor to get the booming bass. You need to get some good air flow through the sub to get good bass, so even if they managed to stuff some sort of tiny subwoofer into the TV, it wouldn't be very good either.

For what it's worth, I chatted with Samsung last night to ask about the DLNA features of the 750. I was told that:

A) They are in the process of updating the manual.
B) The 750 supports the same formats via DLNA as it does through USB.
C) Even though DivX isn't listed in the manual, it's supported (all versions), at the same resolutions as xVid.
D) The resolutions quoted in the manual for video formats are MAXIMUM values, so anything less and you should be good.
E) DLNA (as stated in the manual) truly DOES need a wired connection, however:
F) You can use a wireless bridge to pipe the wired connection through your home wireless network to your router, where the TV can gain access to your DLNA server, but:
G) There will be bandwidth limitations with the wireless streaming, so your results may vary. It's likely that video won't stream well this way. MP3s and JPEGs should be fine.

I myself am trying to figure out what route to go, because I'm not too keen about drilling holes in the floor/wall to get a cable down to the 1st floor router. I thought about saying screw it and just buying a PS3 and a 650, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have options (what's $300 more when you're already spending $2000?). I like the 750's bezel better (sans halo, of course), and the wife said she preferred the 750. Pulled the trigger this morning.

Lestat...are you running them in GameMode? In the 650 thread we are currently discussing gaming and the lag. It would seem that GameMode is the ONLY fix that makes all games run properly.
Obviously many people have different experiences, but there seems to be a lot of proof for the need for GameMode.

(aside: and the problem there is that you can access no settings while in GameMode)

Hi Guys...

I'm new to the forums and a recent 650 owner. I have had 2 bad sets with flashlighting and clouding. I have been reading thru this thread and havent seen anyone mention this here. Is anyone experiencing this or is it just the haloing thing going on?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
