We have had our LC37D64U since early March and we noticed a problem with it fairly early on. The problem is during dark scenes (DVD or TV), the picture dims for a second or two. It never seems to do it when the picture is well lit. At first it was fairly infrequent and we thought that maybe it was a break-in issue, but lately it's been happening more often. We were watching the DVD of Gone Baby Gone today and there are some dark scenes which caused the dimming to occur frequently.

Obviously, it's still under warranty, but I was just wondering if anyone else with this model or a different sized screen is having similar problems or knows of a tweak/fix?

Thanks.

It was the OPC setting. We had it set to "Off" and what we wanted was "On". Seems a little counter-intuitive to me, but as long as it works.

Thanks anyway.

How does SD pictures look on your Aquos. I bought this same set, SD looked awful on it, took it back to the store. Maybe just something wrong with that set? HD looked ok, but hey SD will be part of our viewing for some time.

Well thats interesting, maybe I should try to pick up another one. I did like the features and generous input selections, and it fit my cabinet perfectly.
