If anyone has calibration settings for A750 firmware 1010.2 then please post it. I am not sure which ones to use right now but I guess I can try all of the popular ones and decide.

Zerog6,

Firmware 1010.2 was out there briefly at the Samsung site. For some reason it was pulled.

hmmm, the main reason i'd update firmware is if they finally allow us to edit some settings on game-mode.

otherwise why bother jumping from 1008 I suppose. Zerog6's settings look fantastic.

I bought my new LN52A750 last weekend which had a manufacturer date of 08/31/08. Apparently the real new A750s are carrying the 1010.2 firmwares. Unfortunately, if you google the version number you will get my post asking for information regarding this version. As far as I know another member named Snowmaker from the Owner's thread has the same date and firmware version as me.

Are these pictures that you yourself took from your 650 or are they pictures from the Samsung web site?

Thanks for clearing that up. I wonder, if the 650 has this great of a picture why anyone would need the 750. Deeper blacks? It least they are close in price.

Great pictures and you must have an equally great camera to get a reproduction like that.

I have it too. We don't know what 1010.2 is and what it fixes or improves.

Well, I will say this, the pre-programmed stuff looks a lot better than a signal from any satellite, or cable company. So in regular viewing, you will be lucky to get that type of quality,,,i.e. you will usually see some compression artifacts. The Blacks are the same, 50K:1. I went with the 750 primarily due to the bezel, which I liked better, and I wanted to avoid purple haze, which was an issue on the 650 at the time I purchased my 750. I have no need for the other additional stuff, and I hear it does not work all that great anyway. So really, the extra couple hundred dollars would only be worth it to someone, IMO, if they like the bezel better, want the woofer (i.e. they are not using a surround system, and want the best sound possible between the two) and find the DLNA etc. usefull items to have.

52" Samsung 750, finally satisfaction

Yay, I'm famous. Yup, same MF date.

I've tried everyone's settings. Still tweaking. Football looked great yesterday, but now the Emmys look a bit off.

I'm more concerned with why my volume keeps changing from show to commercial, to next commercial..... it won't stay consistent.

KakimotoRift,

I know that pictures taken off of a TV are not exactly a true representation of what's on the screen, but from what I see, the skin colors look slightly off (paler) and somewhat washed out. So far, the Zerog6 settings have been spot on for my TV. I've had to downgrade the firmware to 1007 to achieve happiness using Zerog6's settings. I'll try playing with your settings to see and if not, I'll upgrade it again to 1009.1 to play with that too. I just hope someone in the near future can post updated calibrated settings with the newer firmware and compared.

Thanks for posting your settings.

Regards...

Here is my 1st post as a happy owner of 750.
I got mine about a week ago, and I have 1010.2.
The picture quality is amazing with the default setting, but bit too contrasty.
If anyone got the better setting for this firmware, please post.

Well, Ipod Touch shows the pictures normal(but not as good as the original quality reproduction by the TV). I have no idea what type of displays you guys use to surf webs but not all displays show the exact same quality. It is only for referencing and pictures do not represent the same good quality as in person or real life.

Pale looking skin is probably due to the makeup they have and the lighting in the show as well as that the camera cannot perfectly capture the exact quality image shown in the TV. If you guys know how to take better pictures from TV please give me a lecture. I want to capture much closer to what I see. Please share some knowledges regarding on how to take off-screen pictures alot more accurate compare to real life.

Like I said, in person is alot better and alot more accurate.
Any photo taking lessons are welcome, shoot me please. I meant shoot the lessons to me, I don't mean shoot me dead.

[Snipped picture lol

KakimotoRift,

OMG....that's stunning!!! Thanks for all the sharing!!

Do you achieve that with your < HDTVtest's A650 Pro Setting with KakimotoRift's Calibration ★Based on ★Dynamic Contrast + ★Black Adjust Calibration ver.080903 > setting?
Can this setting works on 750? 1009.2 FW?
So I can just follow your setting posted on your blog? (The taiwan one)

Thanks again!!!

P.S. I am from Hong Kong....and I love visiting Taiwan..lol...cheers

I got my 750 40" about 3 weeks ago and after finding this thread I checked the firmware. It is 1009.1 and that's what is showing up on the Samsung website. If anyone has any recommended calibration settings for this f/w it would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I broke down and bought the DVE Blue Ray Calibration Disk. I have been holding out for Avia, but at this point I have my doubts it will show up any time soon, plus, pretty cheap at Amazon. So, I will be doing some fine tuning soon. Will probably do it on 1007 first, then update to 1009 and do it on that fw.

1009.1 FIMWARE SETTINGS

OK, people keep asking for 1009.1 settings. I don't know if it's because they're too lazy to scan through the entire thread, but several people already posted theirs. Mine got lost in the AVS database crash, and I was too lazy to repost the calibration diagrams. Anyways, I finally got around to it. Here goes:

HDMI-1 input
Movie Mode, Warm-2
Backlight: 3
Contrast: 100
Brightness: 44
Sharpness: 15
Color: 45
Tint: 50/50
Gamma: +1
ColorSpace: Auto
White Balance: 25, 25, 20, 15, 26, 21
Aspect: Just Scan
Noise Reduction: Off or Auto
All other settings: Off

The results are very good on my panel, as you can see from the attached diagrams.

Other settings: zerog6's are considered reference settings, if you have the right firmware/panel combo (1007/8). They're on page 11. Also check out KakimotoRift (the guy that's been posting a million screenshots). I bet there are a lot of others as well, but you'll have to do the legwork.

And PLEASE stop asking which one will work best on your TV! You have to try all of them and see which you like the most.

Good luck,

B.

That looks pretty good, out of curiosity, what's the highest contrast ratio that you were able to get?

Nah .... you know all too well that Spyder's accuracy sucks for measuring black level ftL. I therefore don't bother with the whole CR thing, I believe any number cited by HCFR would be off. Anyways, it's on my laptop, and I feel too lazy (again) to go check it out.

BTW, how is Kuro Elite, you lucky bastard? And are you lurking in this forum just to make us LCD paupers feel bad?

Actually I don't have the kuro yet, lol. I still have the 750, but it's gonna be gone this weekend :-(. I'm still trying to negotiate a bit better price for the kuro. But if I get to anxious being without a TV I might just go get it as soon as they take the 750.

Either way sorry to say I won't be able to do the 750-Kuro side by side comparison :-(

You can go to page 11 and try my settings, then just search around for other people settings, see whichever you like best, and then tweak them to your liking.
