No, I think it's just because of my camera and caused partially because of the flash. When viewing in person, the whites look fine.

Thanks, One2The3

It does indeed have a headphone jack. I currently have my Logitech Z-2300 speakers and subwoofer connected to it.

Best speakers you can buy for the money I think. I love mine

Sounds good, thanks for the replies. Aren't those computer speakers? I was planning on getting the Logitech X-540's but I shyed away thinking that they won't make a huge difference on a 32'' tv. From what I've read, all positives for the Panny except for the 'humming' sounds it emits. Just cannot wait!

Thanks, One2The3

When I first got it, I did notice some lag when it came to remote commands, but now I'm a little used to it. Heck I use the Panasonic remote to control the TV and the DirecTV receiver now!

Yeah they're primarily computer speakers, and I had them with my dinky little 20" SDTV which was a huge improvement over the sound that box would make by itself. Works just fine with my 32LZ800 and will hold me over until the day I get an audio system down the line. And I agree with Ninjurai, these are some pretty damn good speakers, especially for the price I paid.

Also, just got my 80GB PS3 an hour ago from my local Best Buy (they even did a match on Wal-Mart's $100 gift card offer); but I won't be able to set it up and take pictures until I get out of work tonight. I know, it's killing me too! And today seems like it's going to be a slow day at that!

Nice Ramune! You wouldn't happen to be getting MGS4 would you? I forgot to pre-order (or was I too lazy....); I just hope they aren't sold out everywhere. Congratulations on your purchase on a PS3. It is truly a sleek next gen machine. It's gonna be a slow day indeed!

Thanks, One2The3

I actually have 3 different copies of the game. One was from the Special Edition, the other was the one that came with the 80GB PS3, and the other was a signed copy from Kojima and a few others. I'm willing to let the pack-in version go, as I don't really need 3 copies anyway ^_^; And thanks, it was a close call even getting it!

Just putting it bluntly Ramune...Wow. I was fishing for the LE version of MGS4 but couldn't seem to find them anywhere so I had to get the regular version and the strategy guide. It's awesome that you got it signed by the man himself, Kojima-san! I bet you are going to be amazed when you pop it in to your brand-spankin' new PS3 connected to your Panny!

Thanks One2The3

Does the TV accept 1080p signals via component?

I'm not sure. I'll have to try later. Right now I have it hooked up via HDMI. Pictures nice. I don't think the pictures I'm taking are doing it justice (or coming out right either).

From normal viewing distance, you won't hear it at all unless you've got like superhero hearing.

I hear it even with the TV volume on. It's like a super high pitch dog whistle sound that humans can hear and it makes my ears ring even after I turned the TV off, and thats why it's getting returned. I shouldn't have to pay such a large amount of money to deal with this when it can easily be solved by the manufacturer not using a cheap ass power supply.

Then, you either have super hearing or you have a defective unit. Because it's not a problem with me.

By the way, you're the one with the banged up unit upon delivery. Don't you think that it could partially due to the damage? And I must ask.....why do you still even have the TV if it was so damaged upon delivery?!?!?! I would have thought that you would have exchanged it by now. Why do you still have the damaged TV?

im hoping best buy has them soon... i can already buy the tv from a local dealer but i like the no hassel return policy at BB.

it's either this or the samsung 550 but i want to see if the panny is all it's cracked up to be. i've seen the 85 and it looked like it was pushing red a bit. this is mainly for gaming so panasonics take on the 120hz thing has me interested as well.

I think best buy will probably get them in the summer like they did with the 700lx models last year. They will probably be available online only.

Seriously, if it's between the LZ800 and the Samsung A550, the Panny wins by a mile. The contest is only between the Sony XBR6 and the Panny LZ800. The Sammy has some serious motion issues.

Did my best to take some pics of the PS3 married to this wonderful TV. They don't do it justice, but I'll try to take some better pics tonight. For now, you can view them on my Flickr page:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ramune_...7605591328776/

I'll try some more MGS4 pics, PS2/PS1 upscaling, DVD upscaling and 1080p trailers next time.

really because in the sammy thread people are saying the 550 is better than the xbr line at handling motion. i used to have an xbr4 but returned it since the picture became crap when anything moved.... that and the problem with dark colors bleeding and ghosting on the xbr line is not acceptable.

Note, I was referring to the XBR6 which is their newest LCD on the market. I saw the Sammy A550 right next to the Sony 32XBR6. The motion was MUCH better on the Sony and the detail was also better. The A550 had better color though. I would say that the A550 handles motion as well as the best "older" LCD's out there. The XBR6 definitely handled motion better due to its newer technology.

I think the issue with motion and the XBR6 was SOLELY with gaming. And in that department, I believe ppl are saying that BOTH the LZ800 and the XBR6 aren't great for gaming. I don't believe I saw any mention of motion judder with the XBR6 when viewing HD programming or movies.

Hey ratcliff where did you buy your TV from? I got mine from Butterflyphoto.com.

Quick update on my unit.

I tried to claim an insurnace but got rejected. They are saying TV went over video cameras and package was properly handled, thus no case.

So I called Panasonic, and technician came out. He is going to replace all TV component parts. I am starting think maybe place like butterfly photo sells broken unit, and make customers get it fixed through manufacturer. Eitherway, I will NEVER EVER going to order television from Online sellers!

Sorry to hear about that. That is why its not always the lowest price. Something has to give...

i should have mentioned it was for gaming. oops. i dont really care about the judder, since i wont be watching movies on the set. It's mainly the blur/smearing/ghosting during movement in games im worried about. I like to see what im doing where as the xbr4 looked like the screen was covered in vaseline everytime you moved. mind you for tv/movies it was okay although the black smearing still showed up from time to time(something the new sonys still suffer from).

Why would the panny not be good with games? ips is better at reducing smearing in games/sports and 120hz should help clean things up even further which is something the 550 lacks.

I'm all set on buying the 32LZ800 but I'm really worried about the television getting damaged during shipping. There are no stores selling this television in my state! Do you guys think I should just take the chance and order online?

I've used it with my 360. I didn't see any problems. I played COD4 on it the last couple of nights and it was fine.

Just buy from a reputable online store with a good policy on returns and damage upon delivery.
