I recently bought a PS3 and soon realized, actually within about 5 minutes that an SDTV just isn't going to cut it anymore.
Now I find myself in the market for a good 42" HDTV, I have a $1500 budget (I could spend more but $1500 seems like enough for this size from what I've been seeing)
I do have a few specific requirements though. I'd like HDMI V1.3 (I think almost all current 42's have this) It needs to have decent SD scaling for input of DirecTV receiver (480i input via S-Vid or Composite)
It's going to be used about 90% of time for PS3 and Bluray movies. I've looked at the Sony KDL-42V4100 it seems pretty darn good , and hits under my target budget. Also the Samsung 550 series, but that doesn't work as good with 1080/24p from what I hear.
