Hey Everyone,
I have been researching all the different brands of tv's for awhile now. We have directv and want upgrade to HD, the directv guy told me that Vizio's worked best with their equipment.
So, I went to the Vizio website and they had a promotional offer listed there for directv, So I was wondering if the two companies work together and maybe he was just trying to get me to buy a vizio or if he was just giving me honest advise on what tv to buy.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

It was probably his personal preference. I am unaware of any particular optimization for any brand of tv/monitor present in the Directv tuners/DVRs. They output HDMI and/or component for HD video. Any HD monitor capable of accepting those inputs (and just about all of them do) should perform on its own merit. Your decision on a brand should be based on features, performance, style, fit, etc. - not from the fact that the signal will be coming from a Directv source.

Seems odd that DIRECTV would make that kind of endorsement.

I have DIRECTV HD and two Vizio LCDs (42" and 52"). Both HD and SD look good and the DIRECTV DVR remotes work well with the TVs.

But, like the previous poster stated, it's not like Vizio has any special differentiators over other LCDs that distinguish its quality with DIRECTV.
