I'm like 2 years late on this reply, but I figured might as well. I had the exact same vertical line. Luckily my TV was under warranty (from best buy) and someone came in and replaced the panel today. So far no line. This probably doesn't help you but you weren't alone :P
And yes, my line was also off and on.
