I am searching for a new display to replace my ancient Hitachi 65S500. I want to stay around the same screen size, so I have been pretty limited to DLP in terms of the price I am comfortable dropping on a new set.
I had been looking into the Samsung 67A750; however, I couldn't help but feel like I am investing in "older" technology by going with DLP even with the addition of LEDs. Can get one around $2200.
Today, I saw the Olevia 265TFHD 65" LCD on Woot! for under $2300.
Haven't done enough homework on the Olevia; however, given that Woot!'s deal is over tonight at midnight, I figured I would try and get everyone's take on these two displays.
I am going to be putting whichever TV I choose in my basement "manroom." The room is long and narrow (11ft wide). Light isn't an issue.
I want to be able to watch football, play XBOX 360 and watch an occasional Blu-Ray movie.
Any input you can provide is greatly appreciated.
