Wow. Congratulations. I think it's worthy, too.

Hope you like the new set.

Its weird, I'm over two years past purchase and suprisingly I am still under warranty from Samsung.

I also have an extended warranty with Best Buy.

You can look forward to the best 3D avaliable.

Samsung called me last night and wanted to send me the 55D6000 free of charge. The 8000 is apparently on backorder for a couple weeks. I told them I'd rather wait it out for the 8000 and pay the $450. They said OK. We'll see how it goes...

Samsung called again last night. This time the rep says they approved me for the 6000 for $450 I told her the person last week told me I'd get the 6000 no charge and I could have the 8000 for $450. She said that is impossible and there is nothing in the notes about that

After a while telling her how I'd been offered the 8000 several times only to have them come back and say they are sending me the 6000, she said the best she could do is give me the 8000 for $550. I caved (but upset) She said its in stock and I should hear from the trucking company within 7 days.

The other thing she told me that was different was that the new TV would have a 1 year warranty. The others told me it would have a 90 day warranty. I'm sure the next person will tell me 90.

Anyway - still looking forward to the new set.

When you last wrote, 7/28, BB online had the difference at $730, so you're still ahead of the game.

The UN55D8000 exchange arrived this morning. So far it looks good. Need to tweak display settings a bit and haven't played with 3D yet.

Congrats. Here are 2 professional reviews with fairly similar settings:

Click on the CNET link "Click here to see picture settings" near the end of the review.

Key Home Theater magazine settings are in the first paragraph in the HT Labs Measures section.
