I have an oppertunity to purchase a Samsung LN-T5781 but am hesitating because of the 8ms response time. I enjoy playing driving games and am worried that the video quality will suffer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You did not define that opportunity, but the 55A950 which basically replaced that TV is going for 4299-4999 (it has a variable MSRP ) and it has a 120Hz refresh cycle, 4 ms response time. The 5781 would be an "opportunity, if it is discounted considerably as compared to its original MSRP of 7999. I would put that figure at < 3.5K and even that is a bit iffy for a heavy duty and fanatical gamer. Otherwise a top notch 57" LED HDTV if can be had for under 3K

Samsung: 52" 850 / 46" 61 / 40" 61 / PS3 / BD-P1500 / A3 HD-DVD / Format Neutral

You hit the price on the head. 3k is the offered price. It seems like a great deal but I do game quite a bit.

I guess, in the end, I will see if they will allow me to connect my xbox and see how everything works.
