conventional wisdom seems to be that "sets that size don't need things like 1080p, 120hz", etc. I do not find this to be the case--my xbr6 is nowhere near as nice of a tv as my 40W4100, despite being near the price.

Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones.

Rieper,

LG makes one, the 32LG70. It does 5:5 pulldown and has a 24fps "real cinema" mode.

I believe Hitachi does as well although it may be a 37 inch model, not positive on that.

I'm pretty sure that feature is only available on models 40' and larger, not the 32" size the OP is interested in.

i don't know, but to be honest i think 120hz at 32" is kind of pointless, and kind of an uneeded neccessity since the screen is so small, it wouldn't really matter because you couldn't see much of a difference.

I don't believe any of those models have 120hz--the 650 for example has it for larger sized 650's but I am pretty sure the 32 and 37" models are 60hz, just like the xbr6's. Perhaps last year's panny does--what's the model? That would be odd though since the new models are not 120hz to my knowledge.

I thought the Ultra Clear Panels (via Samsung) all have 120hz.

True, I also have last year's Panny 32LX700 model with 120 HZ refresh. great TV! Panny is or was supposed to come out with a 32LZ800 LCD with 120 refresh this year but a check of several on line sites don't show it as available.

According to the LG website, the G60 Scarlett and the G70 have 120hz in the 37" and 32" sizes. I know for a fact than none of the Sonys or Samsungs do in those two smaller sizes, not the A650 and not the XBR6.

The A650 does not, you're correct. I thought it did. It took a little deeper search to reveal that. But I found it.

Saw the 32" A650 at Best Buy, screen was amazing. Deep, rich blacks and superior contrasts. Sadly the AutoMotion Plus 120Hz that was not included prevented me from picking up this set, but the sale price was really tempting.

Sorry, you are correct. My error and I apologize for the incorrect information on the LG70.

oh, no problem, they all seem to be that way--120hz in the larger sized sets in a given series but only 60 in the 32's and 37's. Part of me says just step up to a 40" since the price is similar w/ sales but a 40" seems so big in my little bedroom, and my main tv is only a 40" in the livingroom! A 32" just fits better, but it seems impossible to really get one that's the same PQ as the larger sets.

I may have to bring home a Samsung 550 in the 32 just to compare and get it out of my system. I'd love to try the Panasonic as well but only the local place might have that and I don't think they have the return policy like CC.

Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones.

If you will download the manual, on page 82 it specifically lists the 32 as one of the models with 120Hz capability.

I'm sure next year they will release a couple of 32" 1080p TVs with 120hz once prices go down.

I am in the Market for another 32" and want 120hz processing for reduced motion blur, or a TV with reduced motion blur achieved in some fashion. I hope Panny gets all their 800 series LCDs in good supply soon. More suggestions are appreciated.

PS: I am refering to the 800 series LCDs that have Motion Flow Technology, which is Panny's feature name for 120 Hz processing.

Actually, Panasonic calls theirs Motion Focus Technology, not Motionflow (that's a Sony term just like Auto Motion Plus also called AMP is a Samsung term). However, as has been stated many times in this forum, Motion Focus, Motionflow, AMP or whatever is not the same as 120hz. Feel free to search the threads for a full explanation.

The only 32" LCD with 120hz is the 32LG60 but at an MSRP of $1499 not many people are going to pay that much just to get 120hz.

Heck at that price you can get a Samsung A630 40" LCD or a Sony W4100 both with 120hz and probably a few other sets as well.
