Has anyone else noticed the new Samsung models haven't been announced yet. This time last year I knew about the 550 and 650, so far they have kept mum, do you think they will anounce at CES 2009?

Considering the 9 series just came out then why would they introduce another new model?

To replace the 5, 6, & 7 series. Maybe the next ToC would be yellow!

I just purchased a A750 myself, it will be here tomorrow and I don't regret it one bit. There is always gonna be something better, I bought my iMac the top of the line model, to just have one a little bit faster come out 3 months later but am I not enjoying what I have now? I love it every day.

And come with their own, new set of problems. Just buy a TV and enjoy it.

Of course, I got it modified with the TK-427, which cheeks it up another, maybe, 3 or 4 quads per channel.

Lol. I bet they come out with a model that has interchangeable aesthetics or somehow allows you to change the color of the TOC. Also probably expect them to get down to 1-2ms response times. Also assuming we'll probably see a few 240hz tv's out of Samsung like Sony's XBR7 and most likely a 1440p model cuz everyone knows that 1080p was soo yesterday . At the least, i'm really hoping for a few lower priced LED models and hopefully more widely available screen sizes.

As for their plasmas...I really want a motion enhancer added preferably w/ 120hz but i'd be happy if they added it to the 60hz models similar to what Sony did with their V-series LCD.

Currently there appears to be 1 new 3 series, 3 new 4 series, 2 new 5 series, 4 new 6 series and 1 new 7 series. The 200hz/ 240hz shown at IFA had a purple TOC.

There are a few of the new Plasma manuals around, will have a look later.

Will have a look to see if there's any reference to the, but it's far from a complete list.

The US plasma manuals for the person who wanted them:
  • PN42B450B1D
  • PN50B450B1D
  • PN50B550T2F
  • PN58B550T2F
  • PN63B550T2F
  • PN50B650S1F
  • PN58B650S1F

Bear in mind these aren't the final manuals and may not be representive of the final product. But we're all deperate to know whats coming in 2009.

There's also a very interesting LN650B manual which is in Shockwave flash format, presumably this is the manual the TV itself will use, located in the new support menu. Seems fairly easy to navigate with the remote and Samsung have done a very good job on it. No more hunting around for the manual!

Looking at the LNxxB650 user manual, page 74 of 265 says:
Auto Motion Plus: Custom
Adjusts the blur and judder reduction level to suit your preference.
Blur Reduction: Adjusts the blur reduction level in video sources.
Judder Reduction: Adjusts the judder reduction level in video sources with film
signals.

Does the A650 allow for the "custom" AMP setting?

Nope. In the Brazilian manual for the LNxxB650, it has 'Low' renamed to 'Clear' and 'High' renamed to 'Smooth', so i'm wondering if it strobes the backlight. I believe the Brazilian also has a pair of USB ports on the side.

Where are the first infos about the 240/200Hz-LCD (according to Samsung at the IFA 08 it´s coming in spring 09) and the new LED series?
Samsung needs new and cheaper LED models to compete with the new Panasonic Plasma series and LED LCD series from other manufactures.

Anyone know if Samsung finally addressed the ridiculous PIP feature? (what I mean is the fact that you can only view *analog* over-the-air broadcast in the other PIP window, which come February becomes utterly useless

The European B650 now supports the MKV container format for H.264/ MPEG-4 movie playback, so should be on all the 2009 models which have WiseLink Pro

Anyone got any idea what these models are? UN40B7000WF UN46B7000WF UN55B7000WF.

It lists them as LCD, so Samsung could have something up their sleeve fro CES.

The A900 ist the Armani-Design-LCD and so it seems the B7000 Series is the new design LCD series. I don´t think a new Armani-Series but it could be the Slim Line Edge-LED series (without 240Hz and Local Dimming) as the new design LCD series. Sony has the ZX1 series and so we can expect the same from Samsung in Spring 09.
