I own a samsung LCD that supports 24hz forced, but not automatically (the EDID does not show 1080p 24hz).

Ive looked at the DVI Detective from gefen, but it doesnt have 24hz as a pre-programed refresh rate. The only way to program it is to connect it to your display itself (which is going to tell it doesnt support 24hz anyway).

My question is in the title really,

1- Is there a device that would allow this (simular to DVI Detective)
2- If not, can i program DVI detective with my receiver which DOES support 24hz in its EDID?

Thanks

Hi molypod. Yes i have tried powerstrip, in fact, i can get both my PS3 and my PC to submit 1920x1080p 24hz to my television directly. The problem however occured once i purchased my receiver.

My receiver does not have the option to force a 24hz output (unlike Powerstrip, ATI drivers and my PS3) therefore, when reading the incorrect EDID of my television, it thinks my television is not capable of such a refresh rate and changes the refresh rate itself to 60hz.

I want a device such as the DVI detective that will send its own EDID to my receiver, telling my receiver that my television is capable of 1920x1080p 24hz!
