Purchased a Vizio VW37L, and I was disappointed that the option for "Closed-Captioning On Mute" was (apparently) removed from earlier versions. I've discovered that it seems to be available when you set up the TV in the "retail display" mode---as opposed to the recommended "home" mode.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two modes? I don't want to run in the 'retail' mode if it has some drawbacks or shortens the life of components, or something. And, I'm assuming that no one knows how to turn on 'CC on Mute' when in the 'home' mode? (I know I can turn on the CC from the set-up screen so that it's on all the time, but I just want to have CC turn on when sound is muted, such as when the phone rings or such.) Thanks.
