I don't want to get a new TV at $2,000, but I also don't want to spend $1,800 to fix it either!!

The image on this TV went double!! I have disconnect ALL inputs; reset all of the factory settings; checked, cleaned and secured all wiring connections; replaced the T-CON board and for about 20 seconds after turning the TV on "cold," the image is PERFECT (before T-CON replacement, image was always double), and then gets progressively double. Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?

I have the exact problem as well. Mine looks exactly the same as seen here: http://i49.tinypic.com/2w6t8ow.jpg
I have a feeling that it might be bad LCD tabs when I took it apart some tabs were significantly hotter than others. Does your TV display fine for 20s every time when turned on cold with the new T-CON board or was that only the initial time after installation?

Does anyone have a link for the settings thread for this TV, I can't seem to find it and need to set mine up again, for some reason the settings changed.

Thanks

Since my warranty is about to expire I figure I might as well get the tv replaced due to the clouding/flashlighting.

I just wanted to see if anyone else has had to use the best buy warranty to get the issue resolved with their 8000 resolved.

Issue with some TV operations

I have 4 years old Samsung 40" LED TV (UN40B7000). For last couple of days, most of remote control's functions aren't working and even the ones that are working (volume and power), don't work in first go. For example, to turn off the TV, I have to press the power button on remote for few seconds before it would turn off the TV. Volume up/down too takes pressing the button few times before it increase/decrease the volume. But it turns on the TV in first go. Most of the other buttons are hit and miss, sometimes those work but mostly not.

Also, the buttons at the front right hand corner of the TV are hit and miss. Power and Source button works but none of the other ones (Volume up/down, Channel up/down and Menu) aren't working.

One other thing, the big circular red LED light in the bottom center of the TV (one below SAMSUNG logo), is somewhat flickering constantly. It's not blinking blinking but a slight flickering that's constant.

Any idea what could be wrong and what can I try to fix it? I have tried changing the batteries of the remote and disconnecting the TV power source (for a minute and then connecting back on) but that didn't help.

Hello! My old UN55B7100 (Best Buy version of the UN55B7000) started having horizontal line problems last night.

Details:
- They are fixed horizontal lines, equally distanced from the top to bottom of the TV
- On the left side of the panel, the lines appear white/gray, but gradually turn black through to the right side of the panel
- The lines persist and look identical on all inputs, menus, including on the diagnostic image
- Have tried unplugging the TV for 8 hours and then plugging it back in, same problem
- Have tried disconnecting all cables except for power, and then going to the diagnostic image, same problem

Photo examples:
- Top-left side of the panel showing uniform horizontal white/gray lines: http://i.imgur.com/u8c4Iwd.jpg
- Top-right side of the panel showing uniform horizontal black lines: http://i.imgur.com/fR0zV35.jpg
- Pic of the test image showing white lines going through the kid: http://i.imgur.com/d48EYqz.jpg

At this point, I have not been able to find anyone on the internet having the same exact problem. Maybe there are people showing sporadic horizontal lines, or even vertical lines.

I'm thinking:
- Timing control board (T-CON)?
- Bad capacitors somewhere
- Cables to/from the T-CON board?
- Bad panel?
- Aliens? (I think this is the most likely culprit...damn aliens again!)

Anyone have ideas?

Thank you all in advance!!

Best regards,
Tony

However, the tipping screw works perfectly being able to go through the holders into the back of the tv. Tried taking it to the hardware store and getting some screws to match the tripping prevention screw but seems that because this is tapered, I'm not able to find the perfect match. Seems my only option is to buy 3 more of those screws (BN96-10788B) from Samsung Parts for $5 each. Here is the link: http://www.samsungparts.com/Products...96-10788B.aspx

Any thoughts? Anyone else in the same boat as me?
I am in need of a new tv stand for my UN46B7000 (UN46B7000WFXZA) again. Like my last one, I want The TV stand where you mount the TV to it. I think I want it to be a glass and metal one again (although now that I have a 1.5yr old daughter, maybe I would be open to a lockable cabinet - wooden if necessary- one instead).

I posted in here back in 2010 about this last TV stand I got from Costco. But unfortunately, this last move resulted in missing pieces and looseness which made the stand unusable. Luckily, since the stand was bought from Costco, they let me return even today 5yrs later without issues. I was hopig to replace it right then and there and be done with it, but they Only had one TV stand in stock. It was a wooden cabinet one where a TV couldn't be mounted.

Anyone else in this thread going using a TV stand or has everyone wall mounted? I really want to buy it from Costco. I like the piece of mind I get knowing I can bring back the stand if it's not good anymore whenever as long as I have the receipt.

The other thing that sucks is that one of the pieces I lost for the old shelf was the bar that attaches to the TV via screws. As I mentioned in the post I'm quoting, I had to get these screws from Samsung because they were the only ones that fit in the TV. These were the anti tipping screws, one of which comes with this TV.

I'm assuming that with my next stand, I'll need those screws again (Unless I get lucky and the screws that come with the new stand fit fine into the TV).

I hope this bar gets found. Otherwise, that's another $20-30 I need to spend on these screws- which I hope is even still available.

Just ordered the Sauder TV Stand with Optional Post and Mount (412701) from jconradfurniture.com for $280. As I mentioned in the post above, I wanted to get a replacement TV Stand with a mount. Unfortunately Costco seems to have no more TV Stand mounts. So I went to google and Amazon to find this. I wanted cabinets since I have a daughter now. Also, we only wanted black.

I was choosing between these other two as well.
I decided against the first Walker Edison because of issues mentioned in the comments with stationary mount, door sag, some issues with mount hardware missing (although I am expecting to order the screws on my own anyways, probably from Samsung- whether they be the M8 ones mentioned in the manual, or the Anti-tipping screws which I used with the last TV Stand), complicated builds, extreme heaviness.

The second also had the same stationary mount issue in the reviews. In fact, one reviewer mentioned that it tips back a little. That was mainly what turned me off to this. Also a few reviews which mentioned packaging issues.

But with the second Walker Edison, I did like that someone specifically mentioned that they were using a center speaker on this stand though. That's what I plan to do. Plus it was temporarily in stock.

The Amazon page for the Sauder Panel Tv Stand with Post Mount Estate, Black seemed to only have positive reviews for this, which sold me. And there was a review that mentioned the center speaker again.

The only bad thing was that amazon wouldn't let you buy it. Instead, it wanted you to go to Bizchair, which bugged me for a few reasons. One, site looks low quality. Two, the picture of the stand on the product page wasn't a complete one - just a zoom in. And three, they don't allow returns or something weird. The only plus that Bizchair had was that their price was $247 and they give you a $15 coupon off for signing up with their mailing list.

Sears and Walmart used to carry this but now don't. So the only other place left for me to buy from was J Conrad Furniture. It's backordered though so hopefully it comes back soon. Otherwise, I may have no choice but to buy fro m Bizchair. Or, just get one of the Walker Edison units.

Sorry for the long post. It's a lot of detail, but if anyone else is in the same boat as me and wants a TV Stand with a Mount, hopefully all this info will help.
