since my onkyo 609 AVR stopped working, i got a sony str-dn1040.
leo bodnar lag test showed a combined 21-22ms (sony w905 tv + str1040 avr), so apparently the new avr adds just ~2ms of input lag.

I plan on getting a Samsung UN50EH5000. I'm a bit weary of pulling the trigger due to the panel lottery on it. Will the panel version affect the input lag? As in, will one with a Samsung panel have less input lag than one with a Sharp panel. If not, it's a done deal for me, but if it does I might hold off until I find a surefire way to secure a good version.

Hi, i have the exact same tv and the sony 840 receiver, is there no extra input lag when running my ps4.ps3, through the receiver to the w9005 tv?

I dont want to buy a leo bodnar device to test this one thing, i know the input lag is really low on this tv and thats why i bough it, so would hate to think there is extra lag because i am running it through a receiver to my tc,

thanks

I've tested my SONY XBR-46HX929 with a Leo Bodnar input lag tester and here are my results using the middle bar with the device touching the screen.

Game/Graphics mode with backlight set to Max
LED Dynamic Control
Off 43.0 ms
Low 43.3 ms
Standard 43.4 ms

Game/Graphics mode with backlight set to Min

LED Dynamic Control
Off 43.5 ms
Low 44.0 ms
Standard 44.6 ms

Photo mode 60 ms

General/Cinema 117 ms
Motion flow
standard/Smooth 107 ms
Clear/Clear plus 118 ms

I notice no difference in input lag when changing any other picture settings or even SBM on/off.

I've also tested my Marantz AV7701 with the SONY TV set to Game mode and Backlight set to Max. Anyone have an idea how the Marantz is beating the tv by .2ms? I haven't fully tested each video option, but Video Mode-Game is the best option for the lowest input lag.

Video Mode-Auto/game/video
Video Conversion-off
42.8 ms

Video Mode-Game
Video Conversion-on
I/p Scalier-off
42.8 ms
With volume Display and Info Display ON I got the same results even when they are on the screen.

I'm looking for a big tv to both watch movies with a great picture, and play games with excellent response time (SFIV, COD, etc.).

I've been to the displaylag.com website and have been back and forth on a few tvs

So far I'm looking at the 80" Vizio M801d-A3, Samsung UN75F6300, and 2 Sony's the 70" KDL-70R550A and the 65" KDL-65W850A .

I currently have a Samsung UN55D8000 which I love. It is a few years old now and I'm looking for a larger tv for the living room.

On displaylag, they don't have the Samsung 6300 but they do have 6400 which has a lag time of 39ms.

My 2 questions are:

Does anyone know if the input lag for the Samsung F6300 is the same as the 6400?

and

Of those 4 listed, or if there's another large tv that I didn't list that would be good, which would give the best picture for movies and the best lag response? So far the KDL-65W850A has the best lag response at 18ms, but it's not as large as the others obviously and I haven't seen it in person so I don't know what the picture looks like.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

The Toshiba 65" 4K 65L9400 and probably its twin the Vizio 65" Reference Series would be the best big screen gaming LCDs you could buy. They have pure direct game mode for sub 10ms input lag. The will probably also offer one of the best movie pictures you can get short of OLED because they have over 300 LEDs in full array with local dimming. They should street at around $3500-$4000. It that is to expensive, Toshiba has a 58" FALD for around $2500-3000 that should also have low input lag.

Toshiba press release

(6) "New 4K game Turbo"

"Game mode" evolved, achieving a low-latency display (about 10msec) about 0.6 frames the fastest speed in our model. 4K corresponding games full HD games, I can enjoy high quality and low-latency high-definition action game. You can also enjoy PC game of high-definition 60P because it corresponds to the length 2,560 × 1,440 pixel horizontal 60P input. In addition,

Does this also apply to the toshiba 55" 1080p L7400U? 10ms is VERY impressive, i'd be thrilled to have that type of response.
BTW, When does that model come out?

I would not think so. The current 4K Toshiba 55" and 65" are using LG IPS panels I believe.

Ahh ic, it annoys me knowing that i'd have to go 4k to get these types of benifits, including actual PQ.
The last thing i'd want is to upscale a 720p(Wii U) or 1080p(Bluray) image to 4k resolution, wouldn't look as good.

I'm practically dead set on getting a 55" Vizio 2014 E(from canada, i'd have to order one from the states online from Amazon), just waiting on CNET's review and Leo B input lag results.

The best settings on the zt60 for lowest input lag would be appreciated.

Does resolution remaster and brilliance enhancer affect the lag?

Cheers

The L9300U was also supposed to have a fast gaming mode, yet it had around 42ms of input lag in game mode. I wont believe that until I see it.

Nice! That's good to hear. that's 7ms less than my S60(35ms) a 1 frame/16ms difference vs 2 frames/32ms is very noticeable based on the titles I've done comparisons with. 7ms less from 35ms should offer a 'slight' Improvement. Can't wait to order the 55" as soon as I sell my S60.cool.gif

BTW I've been hearing there's zero difference in lag with game & custom mode. is this true? my only other worry is how bright the E can get.
I need to know if it can match or even best(doesn't have to) my older 2011 LG LK450 LCD.

Yes this is true. I am sure it can get very bright, much brighter than your S60.

I'm looking for info on the input lag on the H5500 versus the H6350 - both Samsung 40-inch LED Smart TVs.
I know someone has that website above, but I'm looking for personal experience on how detrimental the H6350's higher input lag will drag down the gaming experience...

Anything over 30ms is bad for FPS, anything over 40ms is bad for everything else.

If possible can you do an input lag test on a Sony XBR-65X950B? I appreciate your hard work and continually updating your database for us.

I think I'm going to just get the 40H5500. I give up 1 hdmi port & 1 usb port, while having 60Hz refresh rate instead of 120Hz --- but rather then have input lag in the low 40s w/PC mode, i have around midrange 20 for input lag.

I'm not sure I _need_ 120Hz and the extra ports would just be nice, but either way isn't a deal maker

I can use the $140ish I save in just getting the S3821W-C0 Vizio 2.1 soundbar I've been checking out (it's $158 at walmart).

The 55" Vizio E can do 27ms in Custom mode with Active LED/Smart/local dimming set to off.
That's exactly what i'm going for, unless the 50" can pull of the same results. Gonna head down to the states in a little over 2 weeks and pick one up for sure.
Had to hold off last month since other important issues came up, but this month is a go-go.
I'm dieing to open my Wii U statty, but i won't until i get this TV. :P

BTW, shovel knight looks amazing, can't wait to get it on the Wii U's eShop!
