Help me choose, need to buy a TV and I think I can pick up the current 750 for a lot less then the new 650. Any thoughts?

What am I missing on the new 650 that the current 750 doesn't have?

The new 650 has the customizable 120hz as well as the judder control which helps you tailor movement on the set. The 750 does not have that option yet does have nicer speakers as well as the content library and does video via USB flashdrive.

Actually, you might have that backwards. The 750 sits higher up the Samsung LCD set tier than the 650, so the 750 actually has a few more features (the main one being built in sub woofers for better sound).

Here's a chart you might find helpful: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1052592

Good luck with your decision!

Doesn't the B650 come in 55" now instead of 52?

LN52A750 is the higher range my friend. As you said paying for a 750 is much more lesser than a 650, better quality and higher specs worth the value.

As of today 298 users rated 5 stars at amazon, what do you think of this model?

No, the B650 is a 55in panel and the B750 is a 52in panel.

The B650 stand swivels, the A750 doesn't.

The B650 includes a USB flash drive with the user guide on it. (So if you don't know how to power on the TV, you are SOL.)

The B650 picture in picture will work with the analog or digital tuner. The A750 PIP only worked with the analog tuner.

The B650 doesn't have an S-video input, like the A750. (S-Video inputs are history on the Samsungs)
The side and rear inputs move from the left on the A750 to the right on the B650. (looking from the front)
The B650 has 2 USB ports. So you can use a wireless network adapter in one and a USB flash drive in the other.

The B650 has the USB 2.0 Movie/photo/music, InfoLink, Anynet and network connection.
The 40 inch and larger include the Content Library and DLNA network (to access your PC content).

The B650 has the new "Custom" mode AMP fine tuning adjustments.

There is a new (now 4) picture mode on the B650. (A "Natural" mode between Standard and Movie)

The picture IMO is improved slightly on the B650 vs. the A750.

The contrast is noticeably improved
Diagonal line jaggies are improved.
SD broadcast artifacts seem lessened. (Especially the crap around text.)
The menu colors look better.

That chart doesn't have the new B650 on it, which is what the OP is talking about.

And yes, the B650 (IIRC) does have the 'customizable AMP' feature, which the A750 doesn't, even though it's a higher model (but from an older model year now).

I'd take a A650 over a A750 personally.... so ya take a B650 for sure haha.

a750 has the same specs as a a650 but doesn't have the swivel and the wierd picture frame around it is tacked on and cheap ( ive seen a couple break or snap off from attempting to turn it since it doesn't swivel ) the ONLY thing your gaining from a 750 is the 2 rear smaller speakers at the top but their pretty weak... and if you have a stereo that doesn't matter anyhow. so ya go with a b650 for sure if same price.

.

Just re read and noticed the b myself.

Does anyone know if they upgraded the new b650 to include the built in sub woofers (like last years 700 and 800 Series)?

I doubt the price will be to bad it seems there prices tend to blend together with sales so it becomes a matter of preference. As far as 240hz I'm not sure in the real world it will make a difference as it exceeds actual broadcasting refresh rate for most stuff you will watch. I looked at the sony's that run 240 and they look worse to me than most of the 120 samsung sets, not to mention the price. imo

Any eta on the 6 or 7 b? I spoke with my ex who works at BB and she said definately within a month for the 6 but it wasn't even in there sku system yet. (I'm getting a junk out on my old hlp captain kirk pedestal set)

ABT has an initial price of $2899. Not sure if that is MSRP though. Somebody in another post said that ABT was going to launch with a price of a couple hundred below MSRP so that might be a good guide for how these things will be priced.

refresh rate 240Hz
List is $1999 for the 40"

There is no real noticeable difference of 240hz refresh rate with our human eyes. Big thing about 120hz was to do the even 5:5 pulldown for 24hz material while still doing even pulldown for 30hz and 60hz stuff that's it.

After thinking it over I decided to go with the A750, couple of reasons. First the 650 only come in a 55 inch model which is a significant amount more money. Second, to get a 52 inch equivelant to the A750 I would have to get the B630 and this doesnt include the ultra clear coating (improves contrast).

I also got an amazing blow out price on the A750 from Futureshop, couldn't go wrong
