I actually didn't think the lag was all that bad until I played Killzone and couldn't line up a single shot on the a630, yet on my 42px75 I was having no problems at all blasting enemies to pieces.

For what it's worth Killzone 2 felt slow on the Pioneer 111FD. It's why I didn't keep the game.

To be fair though, the Kuro sets aren't lag free either, Panasonic seems to have this lag thing down though. (both their LCD and Plasma sets have very low lag numbers)

Wouldn't the 2ms response time help with lag? If not I'm confused as to what that feature is for.

Pixel responce time is used to combat ghosting, it is also needed to be at 2ms to run at 240hz.

Input lag is mainly caused by the TV processing being slow, and these 120hz and 240hz modes don't help any either.

ms Doesn't matter as much as actual performance. I think everyone here knows that LCD manufacturers can say almost whatever they want about their TV's. So long as it isn't incredibly outlandish it will pass.

I just returned a 46B550 today with shimmering, I am now holding on to that $1500 and waiting for a 46B750 to come down to around 2k. Shouldn't be an overly long wait.

I do have to buy from BB though, the B550 was a replacement for a Westinghouse. I have an $850 gift card to BB lol. They got me.

Is the TOC gray or red? The official product page says that it is red. Cleveland Plasma says it is gray. I would tend to believe Cleveland Plasma over Samsung actually, but would like to hear from other owners.

You can get a 46B750 for just a hair over $2k at Best Buy. They will match Amazon's price. At least mine did with no hassle.

I wonder if it has to be Amazon themeselves, or if a third party vendor would work too

Hi guys!!!
A few months ago, I was so close to buy the LN46A850 but then decided to wait because of the size and the flashlighting and clouding effect than I started to look back at my older dreams a pio elite...
But it's too expensive
So I'm back on the quest of the best set my money can buy...
Right now I'm pretty much on a PN50B560, PN50B860 (they both have cinema smooth working on 24fps source)but still considering LCD which would be the LN52B750

Each time I see a samsung LCD (excluding the luxias, I'm like WOW...I know the torch mode is a little in that...but the way it handle motion compared to others)

I was at sears yesterday watching the 610 vs a panny plasma and the 610 beat it so much...it wasn't good at all on the panny..can'T tell the model though

But to make it short now it's already too long...
I'm wondering if they changed the AMP function...
can it now works with 24fps...as I understand it...last year models needed a 2:3 pulldown signal at 60fps to work with???
Especially on this model since this is now working at 240hz they might as done something to accept 24fps ??? anyone aware???

for those of you wondering about input/gaming lag i've had the set for two weeks and pretty much constantly game, so here's my completely unscientific report.

when i first got the tv i played some halo3 and was having a terrible time with AMP turned on so i turned it on and it was instantly better, about the same feeling as my old Aquos LC37D90U. after i located game mode in the menu i tried it and it seemed better; maybe it wasn't, but it certainly wasn't worse. i now play with game mode all the time and i do not notice any laggyness.

i played rock band 2 a bunch this weekend and left it on Clear AMP and it was awful. i realized the game was calibrated to my old tv so i ran the game's calibration. video lag was in the 70-80ms range. i tried it with amp on/off (Clear) and game mode on/off and didn't notice any difference.

my verdict: works for me. i can't say for certain that it's more or less laggy than whatever is the best set for this, but it is certainly not worse than my old set.

I own the 52b750 and played gears of war 2 last night and didn't notice any lag with the amp turned off and on game mode. That game looks amazing on this set. bpmurr is right when he says that this set has amazing blacks. My old a 650 and my toshiba don't hold a candle to the crispness of the picture and the black levels of the b750. I have found that with the amp on custom and the blur set to 8 and the judder set to 0 or 1 it eliminates the soap opera effect that the older 120hz sets i have had, had. I am finally completely happy with a television rejoice and have my fingers crossed. Oh and by the way if you decide to get this set make sure you buy sincity on blu ray so you can see just how deep the blacks really are.

Really? Hmm, I had an elaborate plan figured out. There are about 4 Best Buy's in my general area (Columbus, OH). They know me at the Polaris, OH one so that one is out of the question. I was going to go to one I've never been to before and haggle around.

Who did you speak with to price match Amazon at Best Buy? Any tips for making it happen? Best Buy's service is literally different at every location. Although I can't see how they would stay in business without price matching Amazon.

Can you comment on Gears with AMP on? With it off how is the motion blur?

Also, any artifacting with the AMP on full blast? I'm wondering if 240hz is what 120hz was supposed to be.

I just asked the salesperson if they could match what I found it for. The salesperson got a manager who checked Amazon.com and matched it. Nothing special on my end.

BB would not match Amazon for me so I had to drive 60 miles round trip to Fry's and took a pic of their ad with my iPhone. BB matched it right up. It was $10 more than Amazon!

Right on, bpmurr any chance the artifacts aren't nearly as prominent as generations past?

It seems like the ability to customize your AMP settings mean you can still achieve a blur-free picture while minimizing artifacts. I'm honestly not in the market for this super-freaky 3-D effect people say. I just want to minimize LCD blurring.

Basically the question becomes, what AMP setting do you find minimizes blur and doesn't artifact very bad?

I wouldn't be the guy to ask. I turn AMP off. I'll mess around with it though later in the week.

Even better, how much blur do you notice with AMP totally off? I'm almost counting on using 240hz only for movies due to input lag on my games.

For new 750B owners:

Can you comment on screen reflection under different light conditions during
daytime/evening,lamps etc..
It seems like this model has somewhat improvement as far as reflection?

thanks.
