Be careful who you speak to regarding this issue. I am on the phone with Sony now and they say they will either offer 15% discount towards the purchase of a new TV (absolutely ridiculous) or send out a repair man.

The link above clearly says, "Sony will replace or exchange the LCD Panel or television for any Affected Model experiencing picture anomalies due to LCD Panel failure through March 31, 2014".

I cant believe Sony is still trying unethical business practices after all this.

They will send a recertified (refurbished) TV. But they fail to notify of the model # that will be mailed until it arrives at the door step. And they will pickup the old TV.
How does one know they wont send a 32" TV for my 52" TV? They have no control over it, so they say.

I know this is an old thread. I'm having an issue with my KDL46Z5100. Just two days ago the tv stopped working. I press power and the TV attempts to turn on (SONY illuminates and power shows green) then it just turns off after about 10 seconds and repeats ths if I try to turn it on again. The power light goes to red and will flash 14 times. I called Sony and the representation said that cant tell her anything and to take it in for service. Well I rather just fix it myself if I can find some input on here as I really like the TV. If I can fix it rather cheap it would be worth it to me. Or else I would just buy a new TV. But I would definitely like to fix it. Off the top of my head I'm assuming its the power supply board. But wanted some more insight before I start buying parts. Thank you all!
