I know this may sound like an unusual question, but up until now, I was pretty much set on the Panasonic TC-P50S1 50" 1080p plasma set, to replace our 42" 720p model, sometime around the end of Q1'10 (bonus time).

However, even though I really like our plasma's picture, there is a slight problem with glare which thankfully just affects one specific viewing angle. It just happens that this particular angle is when we're viewing it, on occasion, from the kitchen. Since this problem (obviously) happens during daylight hours, we cannot always fix the glare source (sun) since we don't want to darken the living room all the time.

With this in mind, I am now considering LCDs, but I have no idea which model to even begin considering. So I was hoping, by having the Panasonic's S1 price and feature-set known, it would be a little easier to find a similar LCD model.

The main features are:

-
- 1080p
- 3 or more HDMI inputs
- no VGA needed

My biggest concern is the 120/240hz feature on some LCD sets, though this concern is just based on what I read, I've never really seen it in action myself.

Any suggestions?

Go to Amazon and search by best selling in an LCD that's a good start. Sony is matte...other than the 670 Toshiba is matte...all LG's are matte and the midrange Sammys are matte and Vizio is matte. The highest rated matte screens in NO particular order

Sony XBR8
LG LH90
LG 55LHX
Vizio 551

next tier

Tosh 650
Sony V and W series including XBR9
LG 55 series
Samsung various 5 and 6 series models

This is just my opinion I may have left out a few and others may say differently.
and this thread may help

Dumb question: aren't all LCD panels matte by nature?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll go check them out.
