So i connected a optical cable from the optical out port on the tv and connected it to my receiver. I've tried everything but cant get any sound coming out of my receiver. I do get sound if i use the tv speakers, but the sound of that really is not very good.

Anybody have any ideas. The samsung rep i live chatted with was no help

There are two different places to plug in the optical out dangle use the top one by the HDMI port, I have my system setup similarly, except mine is wired, not wireless. I had made the mistake of plugging in the wrong port when I first hooked things up. Everything works now but I also had to match up the correct inputs on my receiver. Hope this helps.

Sorry guys, been busy with work and son been draining me. I'll have pictures sometime when the battery is charged and not to busy.

Work is killing since 3D opens tomorrow and stressing it. Finally get to use the store official 3D glasses. I saw a peak of them earlier today and they look pretty nice. Better than what the pcitures make it seem.

I'm wondering why the discussion of C6500 isn't included in this thread...what's the difference between the C6500 and C7000? I'm also looking at the Sony NX700 (all 40" models). Which one would be better? I'll mostly be gaming on PS3, or streaming Youtube, watching movies or connecting my computer to it and use it as my monitor.

The 6500 doesn't compare to the 7000. This thread should have been 7000,8000,9000 and 5000,6300,6500 need own thread.

6500 is LED verison of b750 pretty much but LED instead of LCD. 7000 is 3d ready and 6500 not, 7000= 6mil contrast. 65000 = 5mil if i remember right.

The NX700 would be close to the C6500

7000 is best out of the three but more money def.

okay so not just me then. Way to go Vudu, you get my money tonight. lol. Nice when u sign up for through the TV you get a 5.99 credit on your account and they have HDX rentals. Which are 1080P rentals!

Rovi TV listing now works?

**update**** Now netflix gives me this prompt "Please update software in order to enjoy some of our new and exciting features or
Apps. Simply go to MENU, SUPPORT, and SOFTWARE UPGRADE" I did that and there is NO updates...

Another update, this same prompt now comes up with blockbuster.

wtf samsung

Dark - I might have missed that you work at a electronic store. I guess that's how you know about the "must buy both at once to get the 3d kit"? Anyway - let me know what you think of the glasses when you get a chance to experience it. Somebody here already left their impressions and didn't seem too impressed. I just hope the 2d to 3d conversion actually makes the 2d appear to be 3d and not just blah/barely any diff!

As for my flashlights, I realize they only really appear when my room is completely dark. Solution - lowered the backlight since I didn't need it that bright (went from 13 to 8 on standard) and they're practically gone.

If you don't care about 3D you should go for the B8500 or the C6800 which is pretty much the C8000 without 3D and it probably has a lower mega contrast rating.

Although if you can't wait until may for the C6800, the C7000 is actually a really good TV, even if you don't use the 3D. Maybe 6 months from now you may find a use for the 3D. I was at Video Only when I saw a calibrated B8000 sitting next to a non calibrated C7000(they hadn't had time to calibrate it yet) and I was very impressed to see that the C7000 had great blacks and better colors than the B8000, Im sure the C7000 will be even better when it's calibrated.

Thanks for the info dark. Seems like BB is now listing the glasses as opposed to having them as coming soon. Too bad my best buy doesn't have them (per the website). Wonder if its worth it just to head over there?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....eInventoryLink

EDIT - just came back from my BB (DC metro area) and they have no idea about the deal (buy tv, bluray, etc). In fact they don't have any samsung 3d accessories but they did have a pair of glasses from panasonic. Worse of all, they didn't even have a showroom for samsung 3d so it was a waste of trip. The guy did confirm that you will likely need to have bought the tv and bluray on the same receipt to get the deal (like Dark mentioned) which really sucks. Why should it matter when I bought the two items - just as long as I have them both, I should get the free kit. Anyway - I'm going to try and bring in my receipt and buy the bluray at BB to get the kit. If Samsung needs to mail you the kit (as opposed to me picking it up in the store) forget about it.

Does any BestBuy actually have the 3D demo of Samsung TV at this time?

Officially, they said:
"Starting March 21, over 900 Best Buy stores will have a Samsung full HD 3D experience and over 250 stores will have a Panasonic full HD 3D experience for you to demo. "

BTW, the 3D glasses at BB are in backordered now

yeah - they were backordered this morning too.

Question is rechargeable ones worth 50 more? Not sure what batteries these glasses work on but I'm thinking it's not worth it.

I started an official thread for this series for this very reason. Here's the link although there's not much there yet. For those of us that are interested in the thread, we'll need to post to keep it from dying. Once my 55C6300 comes in on Wednesday, I'll be able to post more. I'm hoping we'll get some experts on that thread & it will eventually lead to a calibration thread which is what I'm actually hoping to see.

Hi all, just wanted to chime in on the 3d sets. I just recently returned from my Best Buy in Miami, where they had both the C7000 and the new 50 inch Panny VT20/5 demoing in their Magnolia room. I have to say that they were both beautiful panels and did demonstrate a very good 3d effect, much better than I was expecting honestly. I was so impressed, I actually bought the C7000 and am waiting for a few other items before I set the tv up, so I do not have any home impressions as of yet. I did ask the sales guy about the kits that are going on sale on Sunday. He said all I have to do is bring in my receipt on that day, and they can adjust the package and all I would have to do is pay the difference. I hope this helps.

Regards,
Mel

My Best Buy here in Coralville, IA we just displayed the C7000 in the experience room with 3D glasses on demo. I thought the uncalibrated out of the box 3D looked great even for just a 5 minute demo I was extremely impressed! This TV needs serious calibration, and the backlight bleeding was atrocious, but I'm sure we could have easily dialed it down if we didn't have a line of people wanting to test it out. I do think it is important to sit closer to the TV to get the full experience. We were demoing it for customers, some couldn't take 10 seconds of 3D without pulling the glasses off, while others were blown away over how cool the Monsters vs Aliens clip looked. The ones not enjoying it were mostly the wives who looked at the $2900 price tag, haha.

I enjoyed the 3D experience, I am definitely a fan, but will wait for the TV's to become more commonplace and in my budget in a year or 2. Those buying the C7000 now though will not regret it.

Best Buy in Irvine,CA (The District) have it rig'd up. I stopped by during lunch on friday and checked it out. Looks nice. They had a 55 c7000. The best buy sales guy mentioned something about a bundle with the tv, Monsters vs Aliens 3d and 2 pairs of 3D glasses plus a blue ray player, but I dont remember the price he gave me. I was impressed with the picture and the 3D was pretty cool.

The problem is that barely any of the Samsung 2010 models are released here in Canada and based on the price of the UN40C7000 which currently sells for $2499 at Futureshop, I'm guessing the MSRP is $2499 because Futureshop always sells at MSRP. I'm guessing the C6800 won't be much cheaper. It will need to be under $2000 MSRP (i.e comparable to NX700 in pricing which is at $1900) and I will have to get $400-$500 off MSRP in order to afford it. I was able to get an authorized dealer to to offer me the Sony for $1600 (their regular price is $1700, $200 off MSRP) today even though I said I won't be buying it today. So I'm sure when I pull out the cash and bargain some more, they would go lower.

What do you mean by adjust the package? For a guy like me who bought the tv on Buy.com, I want to go into BB, buy the bluray player and get the 3d kit right there and then.

Thanks for the impressions though!

Any impressions on how the 2d to 3d effect looks? I can't wait to try that out (especially hockey!)

Haven't tried that out yet, we hadn't gotten coax connected yet, as it was running off a USB flash drive for the demo. I'll have to try that tomorrow and see if Ican find any decent content to try.

Check back few pages, I stated before which batteries it uses and how long they last.

Anyway - I'm going to try and bring in my receipt and buy the bluray at BB to get the kit. If Samsung needs to mail you the kit (as opposed to me picking it up in the store) forget about it.

It's a samsung deal, not because anyone works at BBY knows what is going on. Lol. If you bought it from BBY, then you can basically return it all and buy it all again at same time, through method not in physical form. It's all instant and Samsung doesn't mail or anything. PM if have issues or have questions
